What is a Pre-existing Medical Condition?

A pre-existing medical condition is a short or long term illness or injury that you have or have had when purchasing your travel insurance.

A pre-existing medical condition can refer to symptoms, tests or a diagnosis. Pre-existing medical conditions include conditions and illnesses such as cancer, stroke, diabetes and heart disease.

How Do I Declare My Medical Conditions While Asking For An Over 60s Travel Insurance Quote?

If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, simply declare them through the quote process and we can see if we cover your particular condition.

Remember to include information such as:

  • If you’ve been diagnosed with Covid-19 and received medical treatment and medication for it
  • If you’ve had a doctor’s consultation or a consultation with a hospital specialist in the last two years for any medical condition.

If you’re not sure what needs to be declared, please don’t hesitate to contact us, and we’ll be more than happy to help.

Will My Over 60s Travel Insurance Cover Me If I Do Not Declare Any Pre-existing Medical Conditions?

If your medical conditions aren’t declared on your policy, if you have not received a written confirmation that we will cover your medical conditions, and if you haven’t paid any additional premium in full, your pre-existing medical conditions will not be covered.
